Where can helium gas be found?

Helium gas is a non-renewable natural source that is typically recovered from natural gas deposits. Most commonly, helium can be found in the USA in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas which are known to be some of the most helium-rich areas of the world.

How does helium gas work?

Any object, completely or mostly immersed in a liquid or fluid, is lifted by a force equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object. Helium gas weighs less than air, therefore, when a balloon filled with the gas weighs less than the air it displaces and will be buoyed upwards.

How can helium gas be used?

Helium can be used in a variety of ways and can typically be found in medical equipment, airships and even assists rockets as they take off! These uses though, use extremely large quantities of helium for their purposes. Suitable for use with latex and foil balloons, our helium cylinders are primarily used to inflate balloons for displays for parties, special events and more!

Latex Balloons

Latex balloons are the most common type of balloon that you’ll find and use for parties and events. Designed to expand up to five times their original size, latex balloons can tolerate helium. However, they will begin to slowly deflate after 8-10 hours. Latex balloons are ideal for birthday parties at home and one-off events where balloons will only be used for one day.

Latex Helium Balloons

Latex helium balloons are specifically designed for helium gas. Latex helium balloons last up to four days and are a better option for events that are happening over the course of a few days. Additionally, latex helium balloons are the balloon of choice for event planners as they can be prepared ahead of an event without worrying about them deflating.

Foil Balloons

Foil balloons filled with helium can remain buoyant for over a week and are a popular choice for those who want long-lasting balloons. Foil is a resilient material which means that it’s less likely to pop than latex. Furthermore, foil balloons are available in many patterns and colourful designs which make them ideal for children’s parties.

Our tips for balloon inflation and decoration…

Keep in mind buoyancy time compared to your requirements.
